This past week went pretty well for the most part – of course there were also some rocky moments as well which every week probably does have, but it is all good. We put two cities of Texas on date for the 31st of August (their names are Austin and Houston) and they had actually been taught previously by missionaries, but for some reason the past missionaries just quit going by and they only had like two lessons left before they could get baptized, but now we have the privilege of working with them so it’s all good! They are 13 and 14 years old and they already actually knew a good amount about the Gospel so we are just doing a little bit of brush up work in preparation for their baptisms on the 31st of this month, but they are definitely eager to learn so that is a plus.
We found out yesterday that one of our “legitimate investigators” had lied to us big time about everything from his name to what religion that he is, so that was a very, very hard pill for me to swallow and it left me feeling extremely disappointed about everything that we had done with him. If one thing is for sure then that is that life is full of surprises whether they be good or bad, but they way that we respond to those surprises determines our attitude and even our desires to move forward and even bounce back. The one thing that brightened my day yesterday though was that Dakota got baptized! It was awesome and he will be confirmed a member next Sunday. His family is less-active but we managed to get the dad to baptize him, so that should spark the desire to come back into activity again. He had a ton of support from family and they were all happy for him as well, so that was awesome!
I don’t have anything else to share with you but just as a little reminder: Be grateful for the things you do have and don’t be one that isn’t grateful. Don’t hold anything against anyone whether they are hard to get along with or whatever, or else it will leave you with a disgusting feeling that is almost impossible to get rid of unless you have that strong desire to change for good. Transfers happen tomorrow so I will let y’all know whether I will be able to make it one whole year in my area or if I will be shipped off somewhere else.
I Love, Care About, & Miss All of Y’all and I Hope Everyone Continues To Do Well!
Don’t Ever Forget That God Wants To Help & All You Have To Do Is Ask And Be Grateful!
